Last month for our 40th anniversary, we celebrated our nurses who continue to heal the world. This month we are featuring our internal employees and the integral role they have played while working at Favorite!
In honor of National Healthcare Recruiter Day, our next #FavoriteFamilyFeature is a Senior Recruiter in our Raleigh office, Stephanie! Stephanie helps train new employees that come on board with the team. She also manages many different accounts for the branch.
What is it like working at Favorite?
There is never a dull moment working at Favorite. In other words, controlled chaos! Some days can be tougher than others but having a supportive team always helps me get through my day! It’s a fun atmosphere to be in and things can change in a snap of a finger. I’ve learned to always be ready for anything!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
One of the areas I find most rewarding about my job is building relationships with clients and healthcare professionals. It is always a great feeling when I can staff a healthcare professional in a role, but an even better feeling when I make a follow-up phone call or a quick text to ensure they are enjoying their role that they were placed in! I love being that career matchmaker, pairing the perfect person with the right position. Whether it’s PRN or a contract role, it’s a good feeling to know that I help make both the client and employee happy.
How do you think your role at Favorite makes a difference within the company and the healthcare industry as a whole?
Knowing that I am staffing healthcare workers to care for people at some of the worst and best times of their lives on a daily basis means a lot to me. I always go beyond my duties as a Senior Recruiter to make sure clients and healthcare professionals have no questions, comments, or concerns. It’s the transparency, commitment, and consistency I give that I know makes a difference in the healthcare industry.
What lessons have you learned while working in the healthcare industry during COVID-19, either personally or professionally?
COVID-19 made a major impact on the world, especially in the healthcare industry. I have learned how to work smarter, harder and be flexible, which allows me to meet crisis demands quickly and adapt to change. This time also reminded me that family matters more than you can realize. FaceTime and talking on the phone are nice, but there is nothing like a tight genuine hug from your mother or grandmother. I am beyond thankful for my family and will never take family trips, reunions, or pictures for granted. COVID-19 was a major eye-opener personally and professionally.
What keeps you motivated when times are tough?
When times get tough, I always close my eyes and remember why I am doing what I am doing. The one person that keeps me motivated is my son!
Tell us what makes you unique! What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests?
I am driven to complete tasks no matter how difficult the situation may be. I love fashion and merchandising! I enjoy watching fashion shows and reading books and magazines to see what’s trending for each season.
How would you describe your team?
My team at Branch 55 cannot be duplicated. We are FAMILY!
F: Focus on goals and results.
A: Adaptability & flexibility
M: Motivation is key
I: There is no I in Team
L: Love what we do and do what we love
Y: Yes, we can help!
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Favorite?
I would have to say my Favorite memory would be my team dressing up for Halloween!
